Ioannis VOURNAS

Born in Athens in 1966, he graduated from Mechanical Engineering School, NTUA (1989) and completed his PHD studies in Mechanical Engineering with scholarship from NTUA. (1994).

Dr. Vournas is the founder of the company "MOTION Hellas" (1994). Since 1994 he has been working as Research Assistant for NTUA, Technical Consultant of Enterprises, Ministries (Ministry of Development, General Secretariat of Research and Development, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Transportation), Project Manager, Managing Director and Quality Manager of MOTION Hellas.
His research interests are Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems, Industrial Automation and Real Time Control Systems, Environmental Protection, Energy Management and Waste Management Systems.

Dr. Vournas has published over fifty (50) papers and he is the author of five books in these areas. He worked as Project Manager and Research Assistant in over thirty (30) EU and National R&D Projects.
